Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon from the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League.
Wotherspoon, Calgary’s second round pick (57th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has played 46 games for Adirondack this season recording 21 points (2G, 19A). The Surrey, BC native played 14 games for the NHL’s Flames last season and had four assists and four PIMs.
Vause, 23, has recorded seven points (3-4-7) over 17 games with the Flames this season. In 101 career AHL games with the Texas Stars and Adirondack Flames, Vause has collected 35 points (11-24-35). The Calgary, Alberta native tied a career high with two goals on Dec. 5 against Texas. Vause also has 41 points (20-21-41) in 30 games with Colorado this season.
Vause originally signed a Professional Try Out (PTO) with Adirondack on November 17. The Swift Current Broncos product was released from his PTO and signed to an SPC with the Flames on December 24.
