GLENS FALLS – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, announced that the club has signed defenseman Brendan Dowler to a standard player contract for the 2026-27 season.
Dowler, 29, was acquired by Adirondack from Fort Wayne on June 17, 2026 to complete a future considerations trade with the Komets. Dowler appeared in 15 games last season with Worcester, Tahoe and Kalamazoo. The 6-foot-3, 201-pound defenseman recorded two points and a plus-seven rating and was traded to Fort Wayne.
“Brendan is exactly the type of shutdown defenseman we want in Adirondack,” said Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier. “He brings tremendous size, a physical presence, and takes a lot of pride in defending his zone. He’s going to make our blueline tougher to play against and give us a strong presence on the back end.”
The Marbledale, Connecticut native has played in 123 SPHL games with Huntsville and Knoxville and has eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points with 176 penalty minutes.
