THUNDER PRETTY IN PINK IN 4-1 WIN OVER READING

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder won for the third consecutive Pink in the Rink Night as they skated past the Reading Royals by a 4-1 final score on Saturday evening at Cool Insuring Arena.

Thunder forward Shane Conacher led the way with three points while goaltender Drew Fielding posted his seventh victory in eight starts with a 31-save effort. Forwards James Henry, Brian Ward and Tim Harrison also scored for Adirondack, which won for the third straight games against Reading.

The Thunder got on the board less than three minutes into the game as Ward scored his tenth goal of the season. On a 2-on-1 rush, Henry sent a cross-ice feed to a streaking Ward, who buried his shot past Reading netminder Mark Dekanich for the game's first goal. Henry and Conacher collected the assists on the play for Adirondack as Conacher found the scoresheet for the seventh games in his last eight played.

The hosts doubled their advantage just past the halfway mark of the opening period as Henry found the back of the net for his 13th goal of the season. On another 2-on-1 rush, Henry this time used Ward as a decoy and fired his wrist shot past Dekanich on the glove side for his second point of the evening. Conacher and defenseman Mathieu Brodeur collected the assists on the play, Brodeur's fifth helper of the season.

Adirondack scored twice more midway through the second period to open a four-goal advantage. First, at the 12:02 mark of the middle stanza while on the power play, Conacher collected his third point of the evening with a shot through traffic from the center point. The Thunder scored again less than three minutes later as Harrison picked up his sixth tally of the season. Forward Pierre-Luc Mercier split the Reading defense with a pass that found Harrison uncovered at the back post for the tap-in goal.

The Royals pulled one back just 62 seconds from the second intermission as forward Brian Morgan scored his fourth goal of the season to cut the Adirondack advantage to 4-1. Morgan skated down the right wing, cut towards the middle and saw his shot barely sneak through Fielding's five hole for his team's first tally of the evening. Defenseman Nolan Zajac collected the lone assist on the play, his 13th of the season.
