THUNDER FALL 4-1 TO BRAMPTON

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder dropped their second consecutive game to the Brampton Beast as they fell 4-1 on Friday evening at Cool Insuring Arena.

Evan Neugold scored Adirondack’s only goal with a tally early in the third period while goaltender Drew Fielding made 14 saves in defeat.

Brampton opened the scoring 11:24 into the game as forward Nathan Todd beat Fielding from a sharp angle for his seventh tally of the season. With the puck deep in the Adirondack end, Todd skated out from the left-hand corner and fired a shot underneath the crossbar for the game’s first goal, which came unassisted.

The Beast struck again midway through the second period as forward Alex Foster redirected a David Vallorani feed past Fielding to put the guests ahead by a pair. From the bottom of the right-hand circle, Vallorani fired a pass towards the crease that deflected off the skate of Foster in front and into the back of the net for the goal. Vallorani and Ciampini collected the assists on the play, Vallorani’s seventh assist of the season.

Adirondack got on the board 3:08 into the third period as Neugold found the back of the net for the second straight game. After a scramble in front of the Brampton net, Stephen Johnson fed defenseman Matthew Spencer at the right point. The 6-1 blueliner fired a shot on net, which was denied by Brampton netminder Zachary Fucale, but the rebound fell to Neugold in front, where he scored on his forehand for his second tally of the season. Spencer and Johnson collected the assists on the play, Spencer’s first career ECHL point.

Brampton went on to ice the game with a pair of third-period goals. First, at the 6:13 mark of the third, forward Chris Leveille took a feed from Brandon Marino and fired past Fielding on a breakaway for his 12th tally of the season. With less than five minutes to play in regulation, the Beast scored again as Todd buried his second goal of the evening. On a 2-on-1 rush, Leveille fed Todd from right-to-left, where the Brampton forward scored from the slot to extend his team’s lead to three goals. Leveille and Marino collected the assists on the play, the third helper of the evening for Marino.

The Thunder are idle for the remainder of the weekend before they host the Florida Everblades for three games next week.
