GLENS FALLS – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, have announced that the club has re-signed forward Daniel Amesbury to a standard player contract for the 2026-27 season.
Amesbury, 35, returns to Adirondack after recording 149 penalty minutes in 23 games after being acquired by the Thunder from the Utah Grizzlies.
“You can’t underestimate the impact of a proven veteran who leads by example,” said Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier. “Daniel instantly changes the dynamic of our roster with his physicality, work ethic, and willingness to do the heavy lifting. He’s going to help solidify our identity, protect our group, and make sure we never get pushed around on home ice.”
Prior to last season, the Maple Ridge, British Columbia native played in 33 games with the Kansas City Mavericks and had an assist and 171 penalty minutes. In a total of 70 ECHL games with Adirondack, Fort Wayne, Kansas City, and Utah, Amesbury has two points and 379 penalty minutes.
Overall, in 252 games in the ECHL, CHL, SPHL and FPHL, the 6-foot-0, 222-pounder has 32 points (15g, 17a) and 1,520 penalty minutes.
