Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder announced today that, in partnership with UA Local 773, they have donated $15,800 to the Dog Tag Brewing Foundation, which supports and enhances Gold-Star Families, the families of our nation’s fallen military members.
The Thunder and UA Local 773 have supported our military in each of the last three seasons with a Calgary affiliated team in Glens Falls, holding Military Appreciation Night in December each season. The two organizations have combined to raise over $30,000 in total from jersey sales, ticket proceeds and 50/50 donations from our fans.
"We’d like to thank our fans for their generosity in helping us support the Dog Tag Foundation," Adirondack Thunder President Brian Petrovek said. “We’d also like to thank Larry Bulman and Scott Martel of U.A Local 773, and the United Association as they continue to sponsor our Military Appreciation Night at the Civic Center, one of our most popular events each season.”
The Dog Tag Foundation grants support organizations and local projects of remembrance, large or small, new or existing. They offer free services to start new charities and improve existing ones that carry out remembrance projects and share these stories of service and sacrifice, inviting and inspiring Americans to get involved.
“We’re excited to join forces with the Thunder to help support a new and extremely worthy organization,” UA Local 773 Business Manager Scott Martel said. “Dog Tag Brewing Foundation has proven its commitment to helping out families of our fallen soldiers and we couldn’t be happier to give them this contribution on behalf of our organization and the Thunder. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the team for another successful season.”
The Thunder will hit the ice again in October as they kick off the 2017-18 ECHL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $13 per ticket. Call 518-480-3355 x1 or visit ECHLThunder.com for more information.
