TONIGHT’S MATCHUP: The Thunder enter the final weekend of the regular season with a pair of road games against the Elmira Jackals at First Arena. The two games will be the final matchups in the Adirondack – Elmira rivalry, with Elmira departing the ECHL at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season.

LONG DIVISION: With a victory tonight over the Jackals, the Thunder would clinch the North Division title, the first in franchise history. With the 4-1 win over Manchester on Tuesday, Adirondack locked up home ice advantage in Round 1 of the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Thunder could also clinch the division crown with a Brampton loss against Manchester.

NINER, NINER: Adirondack is currently on a nine-game point streak, the longest both of the 2016-17 season and Thunder franchise history. The streak is the longest active run in the Eastern Conference and the second longest in the ECHL, trailing only Allen’s 14-game streak. The Thunder will also conclude the regular season with seven consecutive home victories, another franchise record.

TUG OF WARD: Adirondack Thunder forward Brian Ward is currently riding a 13-game scoring streak, the longest streak in Thunder franchise history and the second longest active streak in the ECHL. Yesterday, Ward was named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for March. The 6-2 center collected 17 points (8-9-17) over 11 games played as he ranked second in both goals and points among first-year players.

ON THE GO-ALIE: Adirondack Thunder netminder J.P. Anderson also collected monthly hardware as he was named as the Warrior Hockey Goalie of the Month for March. Anderson amassed a 6-0-1 record with a 2.44 goals-against average and a save percentage of .927 in eight appearances during the month. Anderson also made both a career high and franchise record 52 saves in a 4-2 win over Orlando on March 21.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO BROCK: Thunder winger Brock Montgomery led the team with two points in Tuesday’s win, including the game-winning goal late in the second period. The goal for Montgomery came on the power play, where he’s collected seven (4-3-7) of his 15 points with Adirondack this season. The 6-3 winger has amassed 21 points (9-12-21) overall this season, split between Adirondack and Orlando.

BREAKING THE LOUGH: Adirondack defenseman Kevin Lough earned his first career AHL callup as he signed a PTO with the Binghamton Senators earlier this week. Lough made his AHL debut on Wednesday against Rochester. On the season with the Thunder, the 5-11 blueliner has amassed four goals and 14 points, including points in two straight games before his move to the AHL.
