Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have agreed to terms with forward Phil Lane on a standard player contract for the 2016-17 season.
Lane, 24, joins the Thunder for his fifth professional season with each of the previous four coming in the American Hockey League. Lane amassed over 200 games of AHL experience with the Portland Pirates and the Springfield Falcons, where he netted a cumulative 48 points (26-22-48). Lane’s best offensive season came in 2012-13, where he collected 14 goals and 22 points with the Portland Pirates, where he ranked tied for fourth on the team in goals. Lane has also appeared in eight career AHL playoff games, where he amassed three points (2-1-3).
The Rochester, NY native was originally a second round draft pick of the Phoenix Coyotes as he was selected 52nd overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to beginning his professional career, Lane skated for three seasons in the OHL with the Brampton Battalion from 2010-2012. The 6-4 winger collected 107 points (57-50-107) in 171 career OHL games.
