Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today the 2016-17 Hero of the Game program, presented by U.A. Local 773 which will allow Thunder fans to nominate local heroes who will be honored at Thunder games throughout the season, beginning with Opening Night on October 22.
The Thunder are looking for nominations of heroes of all shapes and sizes from throughout the local community. A hero can be someone who has served in the armed forces, but can also be someone who has served as a fireman or policeman, has donated and contributed back to his or her local community, or someone who has acted heroically in everyday life in some form.
Fans are encouraged to nominate Heroes of the Game through the Adirondack Thunder team website by CLICKING HERE, or emailing Bryan Florkiewicz, Director, Game Operations, at bflorkiewicz@echlthunder.com. The nomination process will remain open throughout the season until 36 worthy heroes have been selected. Each Hero of the Game will be honored during the National Anthem Ceremony of a Thunder home game.
The Thunder kick off their 2016-17 home schedule on Saturday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. against the Manchester Monarchs.
