Stockton, CA - The Stockton Heat have assigned goaltender Kent Simpson to the Adirondack Thunder.
Simpson, 23,, has played in 7 games with the Stockton Heat this year while also having played 2 games with the Adirondack Thunder in late October.
The Edmonton, ALTA native signed an AHL contract with the Heat on July 15, 2015. Simpson spent the majority of 2014-15 season as a member of the Stockton Thunder, after he was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks organization to the New York Islanders organization.
Originally drafted in the second round, 58th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks, Simpson has played most of his professional games in the AHL and ECHL but made his NHL debut on December 14, 2013 for Chicago. Simpson has appeared in 109 games over three professional seasons, including 70 contests at the ECHL level.
