ADIRONDACK FLAMES TOP 10 PLAYS

The Adirondack Flames 2014-15 season included several great goals, saves and hits and we've trimmed them down to 10 plus honorable mentions!

The countdown begins with five honorable mentions, including a terrific, shorthanded, individual effort from Turner Elson and a Garnet Hathaway goal that capped off a three goal comeback! Which brings us into the Top 10 plays of 2014-15.....

10. Max Reinhart's sharp angle snipe against Albany was the only goal we'd see in a 1-0 victory over the Devils. Reinhart beat Albany netminder Keith Kinkaid from an incredibly sharp angle for one of the season's slickest goals.

9. Brad Thiessen used a bit of left padded larceny to deny a bid from Rochester's Brayden Irwin and preserve a Flames early season victory over the Americans.

8. Number eight features the only hit on our countdown as defenseman Mark Cundari stepped up in open ice and sent Utica forward Darren Archibald spinning with a perfectly executed hip check.

7. Mathieu Tousignant or Patrick Kane? The Flames center, typically known for his checking and physical play, got fancy in the shootout against Lake Erie and beat netminder Calvin Pickard with a dazzling move.

6. Center Corban Knight put in a beautiful breakaway move early in the season against Rockford, as he went forehand to backhand to beat goaltender Scott Darling, currently in the Stanley Cup Finals with Chicago, with a bardown shot.

5. A beautiful tic-tac-toe effort finds its way onto the countdown at number five as Emile Poirier, Bill Arnold and Sven Baertschi combined for one of the season's prettiest goals against Oklahoma City.

4. Joni Ortio makes his first appearance in the year's top ten with a fantastic pad save against Chicago. The Finnish netminder went quickly from left to right to deny Jeremy Welsh on the back post.

3. The perfect combination of passing and patience earned this goal number three as Bryce Van Brabant executed a nifty between the legs feed to Tousignant, who waited out Rochester netminder Andrey Makarov and finished swiftly for the goal.

2. Winger Emile Poirier dazzled at number two as he used his speed through the neutral zone to create the scoring chance and his silky smooth hands to beat Chicago goaltender Jordan Binnington for the goal.

1. Joni Ortio concludes our countdown with the top play of 2014-15. Ortio dives to his left and swats a Brett Richie shot out of the air while sprawled out on the, denying one of the AHL's most lethal offensive players in the process.

Thanks to all of our fans for following along with our Top 10 Plays of the month countdowns this season, stay tuned for more as the Adirondack Thunder move into their inaugural season.
