Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames have announced a partnership with the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, N.Y.
The Flames and Double H Ranch have combined to create “A Step (or Skate) in the Right Direction”, a health and happiness Walk-A-Thon and Skate-A-Thon event to be held on January 25 from 12:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Flames new mascot, Dash, will be on the ice to help support the cause. All participants interested in skating are asked to bring their own skates.
A charitable donation of $35 for adults and $15 for youth gains entry and participation, with all proceeds from the afternoon going to benefit the Double H Ranch. The donation/admission includes an event T-Shirt, a flex ticket to an Adirondack Flames home game and additional activities to take place in Heritage Hall during the afternoon. Refreshments will also be available.
The Flames and Double H are encouraging teams of walkers and skaters, but individual participants are welcomed to participate. To sign up for the Walk-A-Thon and Skate-A-Thon, download the event form at http://www.doublehranch.org/calendar-event/walk-thon-skate-thon/ or http://www.adirondackflames.com/community/events/index.html?event_id=135.
Flames players and staff members will also pay a visit to the Ranch during the month of February, when school kids are on break from classes. The players will visit Double H Ranch’s own mountain and ski with the kids.

" The Double H Ranch is proud of our local partnerships and most recently our opportunity to partner with the Adirondack Flames Hockey team on behalf of our inspirational kids,” Max Yurenda, Executive Director/ CEO of the Double H Ranch, said. “Our upcoming walk a-thon and skate a-thon are new initiatives that will support our local campers in getting to camp this summer."
