CALGARY FLAMES ASSIGN SHORE, RECALL WOTHERSPOON

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon from the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League and assigned centre Drew Shore to Adirondack. Calgary also announced that they have placed defenceman Ladislav Smid on Injured Reserve and activated goaltender Karri Ramo from the IR.

Wotherspoon, Calgary’s second round pick (57th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has played 38 games for Adirondack this season recording 15 points (2G, 13A). The Surrey, BC native played 14 games for the NHL’s Flames last season and had four assists and four PIMs. The 21-year-old defenceman was the final player assigned from Calgary to Adirondack at the conclusion of the NHL team’s training camp.
