Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames announced today a partnership with Regional Radio Group as the flagship radio network for Flames hockey. Regional Radio Group will carry each of the Flames’ 76 home and away games during the 2014-15 season live over the air on HITS 95.9 FM (WCQL) and Talk 1450 AM (WWSC), as well as streamed through the station’s web platform.
"We’re excited to bring AHL hockey back to Regional Radio Group airwaves,” Flames President Brian Petrovek said. “Our philosophies and objectives aligned from the start. Our listeners, fans and advertisers will be in great hands with this relationship."
The new partnership between the Flames and Regional Radio Group will ensure that popular features from years past will remain intact, including a weekly “Coaches Show” to air on 98.5 WCKM FM. A daily “Flames Minute”, which will air across all three stations, will give inside information about the Adirondack Flames. In addition, player and coach interviews will give the fans exclusive, behind the scenes access to Flames personnel throughout the season.
"We [Regional Radio Group] are very excited for this opportunity to be working with Brian and the great staff that he has compiled in such a short period and are certain that with their passion for the game and the region this relationship will be mutually beneficial to both parties,” Clay Ashworth, Owner and Operator of Regional Radio Group, said. “AHL Hockey became synonymous with our group years ago and we are thrilled to be able to bring what was once a very successful partnership back into the equation."
The affiliation with Regional Radio Group continues a strong tradition of having many of their on air personalities as a part of the Flames operation. Dan Miner, morning show co-host of 98.5 WCKM, will continue as the Public Address announcer and Jason Ross, co-host of the HITS 95.9 HITS HOT BREAKFAST SHOW, will be the in-game host for all home games.
There are still plenty of great seats available for Opening Night, through a full season, 22 or 12 game plan for the 2014-15 season, in addition to group outings and flex tickets, which are now on sale. For more information, contact the Adirondack Flames front office at 518-480-3355.
