THUNDER RECORD POINT STREAK ENDS IN 6-2 LOSS TO RAILERS

WORCESTER – The Adirondack Thunder 12-game point streak came to an end Saturday night in a 6-2 loss to the Worcester Railers. With the loss, Adirondack now trails Worcester by one point for the final playoff spot in the North Division.

The Railers scored early and late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Just 1:09 into the game, Steve Jandric took the puck into the offensive zone and sent a backhand shot by goaltender Mike Robinson. The goal was Jandric’s eighth of the year with assists from Trevor Cosgrove and Ryan Da Silva.

Jacob Hayhurst gave Worcester a 2-0 lead with 1:36 left in the first period. After the original save by Robinson, Hayhurst got the final touch for his ninth of the season with helpers from Jandric and Henrik Tikkanen and Adirondack trailed by two after 20 minutes.

Myles McGurty added to the lead late in the second period as he snuck a shot through Mike Robinson. The goal was his second of the year with assists from Anthony Repaci and Artyom Kulakov at 16:06 and the Thunder trailed 3-0 after two periods.

After Jacob Hayhurst gave the Railers a 4-0 lead, Adirondack came back and scored twice to pull within two. Matt Stief and Ryan Smith both scored at 3:13 and 6:42 of the third period with assists from Shane Harper, Shawn Weller, and Ivan Chukarov.

Anthony Repaci and Nick Fea added to the lead later in the third in the 6-2 win.
