GLENS FALLS, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed forward Will Smith prior to this evening’s game.
Smith, 22, joins the Thunder roster from the SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen, where he has played in parts of the past two seasons. After putting up 20 points (8g-12a) in 23 games this year, Smith has combined to accumulate 53 points (23g-30a) from 62 career games played with Peoria. The East Longmeadow, MA native has previous ECHL experience as he appeared in five games for the Indy Fuel last season.
Prior to skating professionally, Smith played four seasons of amateur hockey – three for the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL and an additional season with the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks. In total, the 22-year-old forward recorded 97 points (44g-53a) in 250 regular-season games during his juniors career.
