THUNDER MAKES GOALIE MOVES

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that it has received goaltender Colton Phinney from the AHL’s Binghamton Devils after he was released from his professional try-out.

Phinney returns to the Thunder after completing AHL training camp and making the Opening Night roster for the Devils. He appeared in one game during his time in Binghamton and did not allow a goal.

The 25-year old is now back in Glens Falls after spending the majority of last season with the Jacksonville IceMen. In 21 games of action, the 6-foot-1 goalie posted a 3.25 goals against average along with an .886 save percentage. Phinney also appeared in one game each for the Indy Fuel and the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.

Additionally, the Thunder has released goalie Ian Sylves from his try-out.

Adirondack will kick off its regular season Saturday night against the Maine Mariners in Portland, ME. The Thunder will return home for the home opener on October 20.
