Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, announced today that it has completed two separate futures trades from last season that allowed it to acquire Shane Conacher and Kenton Miller.
Adirondack will send forward Tim Harrison to the Orlando Solar Bears to complete the October trade that netted the ECHL rights to Conacher, the Thunder’s leading scorer this past season. Conacher, 24, posted 63 points (20-43-63) in 55 games played with Adirondack this year while adding an additional four points (3-1-4) in the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Canisius College product also appeared in 10 games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch.
Additionally, the Thunder will send forward Pierre-Luc Mercier to the Rapid City Rush to complete the March trade deadline acquisition of Kenton Miller. Mercier posted 42 points (17-25-42) in his rookie season after a four year collegiate career at Bowling Green State University. Miller, 27, completed his sixth professional season with Adirondack and tallied six points (3-3-6) while skating in 11 regular season games and appeared in 15 games for the Thunder in the postseason.
