THUNDER SIGN FORWARD RYAN SCHMELZER

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, have signed forward Ryan Schmelzer to a standard player contract.

Schmelzer, 24, joins the Thunder after he completed his collegiate career at Canisius College, where he skated for four seasons. Schmelzer ranks tenth all-time at Canisius with 143 games played between 2014 and 2018 and amassed 106 points (40-66-106) throughout his collegiate career. The 6-2 forward reached the 30-point plateau in each of his final three seasons with the Golden Griffins and ranked in the Top 3 on his team in scoring in each season. The East Amherst, NY native was college teammates with Thunder forward Shane Conacher from 2014-16.

The Thunder are back in action this weekend as they visit the Manchester Monarchs for games on Friday and Saturday evenings. Visit ECHLThunder.com or call 518-480-3355 x1 for tickets to all upcoming Thunder home games.
