Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed defenseman Dylan Olsen to a standard player contract.
Olsen, 26, brings 125 games of NHL experience to the Thunder, including one Stanley Cup Playoff contest. The 6-3 defenseman has skated in parts of four seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers, where he amassed 22 points (5-17-22). Olsen has also appeared in 215 games in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs, San Antonio Rampage and Portland Pirates during his professional career.
The Calgary, AB native was originally drafted in the first round, 28th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to beginning his professional career, Olsen skated in two seasons with the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs of the WCHA and won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championships.
