Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed Conor Riley to a standard player contract.
Riley, 24, amassed 18 points (9-9-18) in 41 games played with Adirondack last season as he skated as both a forward and a defenseman. Riley spent the majority of his season on the blue line but saw time at forward later in the season as he collected his first career two-goal game on March 28 against Orlando. The 6-0 skater had five multi-point games on the season and finished the 2016-17 campaign with a +5 rating. Riley also won the Thunder’s “Unsung Hero Award” voted on by the Thunder coaching staff.
The Massena, NY native also appeared in eight games with the SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen a season ago, where he collected two points (0-2-2) and a +6 rating. Prior to beginning his professional career, Riley played four seasons at the University of Maine, where he served as an alternate captain as a senior. Riley also played two seasons locally at Albany Academy from 2009 – 2011.
The Thunder will hit the ice again in October as they kick off the 2017-18 ECHL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $13 per ticket. Call 518-480-3355 x1 or visit ECHLThunder.com for more information.
