Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have added 11 players to their training camp roster on a tryout basis.
The Thunder have signed the following players to professional tryouts:
Phil Bronner - Foward
Alexander Fedoseyev - Forward
Thomas Gobeil - Forward
Matt Grogan - Goaltender
Brody Hoffman - Goaltender
Conor Riley - Defenseman
Bronner and Riley rejoin the Thunder after spending time with the team during the 2015-16 season. Gobeil, Hoffman and Grogan each spent time in the ECHL during the 2015-16 season. Fedoseyev has played professionally in Russia since 2010 and has spent time in the KHL and the VHL.
The Thunder have also added the following players on amateur tryouts:
Andrew Bonazza - Forward
Brad Campana - Defenseman
Yoshiroh Hirano - Forward
Spencer Metcalfe - Defenseman
Campana (SUNY Potsdam) and Metcalfe (University of Prince Edward Island) spent the 2015-16 season playing collegiate hockey. Hirano spent last season with the Youngstown Phantoms in the USHL, where he was the first Japanese-born player to play in the USHL. Hirano also skated with Team Japan at the 2016 IIHF Division 1 World Championships. Bonazza skated in the SPHL with the Knoxville Ice Bears.
The Thunder open their 2016 Training Camp on Tuesday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center. All training camp practices are open to the public. A full training camp schedule can be found at echlthunder.com.
The Thunder are 26 days away from opening night, as they kick off their 2016-17 home schedule on Saturday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. against the Manchester Monarchs.
