NOVEMBER COMMUNITY CALENDAR

The Adirondack Thunder have released their community calendar for the month of November.

The Thunder will hold a ‘Day of Caring” tomorrow, November 10, at the Glens Falls Senior Center, where players will help to build a fence from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The event was organized in partnership with the Tri-County United Way and will feature several Thunder players.

The Thunder will once again partner up with Big Brothers / Big Sisters to participate in their high school transition program, that focuses on eighth graders making the transition into ninth grade. The Thunder players will talk with the students on setting goals, motivation and coping with transitions. The players will visit South Glens Falls High School on Thursday, November 19 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This is the second part in a three-part appearance series with Big Brother / Big Sisters, after Dana Fraser, Michael Kirkpatrick and the Thunder hosted a big-little mixer at the Civic Center in October.

The team will also participate in the Post Star Holiday Parade on Sunday, November 22. The Thunder will be able to march in the parade and help support the community in a large scale local event. Thunder players, along with our mascot, Gunnar, will be in attendance.

Adirondack Youth Hockey and the Thunder have continued their partnership and beginning on Monday, November 9, the Thunder will have players at an AYHA practice on a once-per-week basis, as scheduling allows. Two Thunder players skate with the youth hockey teams and help to conduct drills and coach the young skaters.

Finally, the Thunder will be at O’Toole’s Restaurant Pub every Monday night with two Adirondack Thunder players, coaches and broadcaster Cameron Close. The show runs from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and includes giveaways of Thunder tickets, autographed items and more! Fans are welcome to come out, meet the guys, enjoy food and drink specials and listen to the show live.

November’s community calendar builds off of a successful first five weeks, when our players visited the Glens Falls YMCA, held a Big Brothers / Big Sisters mixer, spent time with Saratoga Youth Hockey Players and participated in the cruise with the Thunder on Lake George. Our mascot, Gunnar, was present at the End Alzheimers walk at the GFCC, the Stuff the Bus campaign with the Tri-County United Way, a blood drive with the American Red Cross and the Morgan and Co. Fall Festival.
