Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have signed defenseman Zach Josepher.
Josepher, 27, joins the Thunder with 17 games of ECHL experience from the 2014-15 season, which were split between the Missouri Mavericks and the Elmira Jackals. Josepher spent eight games with Missouri, including his ECHL debut on December 12 against Tulsa and registered his first ECHL point, an assist, the following night against Allen. After an injury led to his release from Missouri, Josepher signed a Standard Player Contract with Elmira, where he appeared in nine games. The blueliner made his Jackals debut on February 14 against Reading and had his best game on February 25 as he recorded two goals and a +3 rating against Greenville.
The Wantagh, NY native skated a season in the CHL with the St. Charles Chill in 2013-14, where he collected ten points (3-7-10) and was one of just five players to appear in 60 games. Prior to turning professional, Josepher skated two seasons of Division One NCAA Hockey with Michigan State, where he played in 55 games from 2009-2011. The 6’0” defenseman finished his collegiate career with two seasons at SUNY Oswego, where he led Laker defensemen in goals during both his junior and senior seasons.
