FLAMES LAUNCH CAMPAIGN TO HELP FUND AMANDAS HOUSE PROJECT

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames announced a 30-day fundraising campaign, in partnership with the Adirondack Regional Chamber (ARCC) of Commerce Leadership Group, to benefit the rennovation of Amanda’s House at Glens Falls Hospital.

Beginning with their home game this Friday, January 9, against the Oklahoma City Barons, and ending on Saturday February 7, when the Flames host the Utica Comets at the Glens Falls Civic Center, the Flames will run their “Amanda’s House Campaign”. The Flames goal is to raise $5,000 dollars during their campaign, 20 percent of the Chamber Leadership group’s total goal, with all proceeds raised, by the Flames, up to $5,000, being matched by the Ronald McDonald House in Albany.

January 24 will be “Amanda’s House Night” at the Civic Center, as the Flames host the Rochester Americans. $1 from each individual ticket purchased HERE, will go towards the “Amanda’s House Campaign”. The Flames have also partnered with Ovations Food and Beverage Services to donate five percent the Flames’ share of concessions that night to the campaign. 50/50 sales from this game, as well as the Flames’ home game on February 6, will also be donated towards the campaign goal, along with a silent auction of Adirondack Flames autographed items.

“The Amanda’s House is an important part of Glens Falls Hospital that helps out those traveling from afar for emergency care,” Adirondack Flames President Brian Petrovek said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the Chamber’s Leadership Group, Glens Falls Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House on this project, as they know firsthand the impact Amanda's House will have on families in need, and play a role and play a role in reaching the $25,000 goal through the generosity of our fans and supporters. And we especially thank the Ronald McDonald House for their matching challenge, further motivating us in the next month.”

Furthermore, the Flames will donate 100 Flex Tickets to the ARCC Leadership Group to be sold at their discretion, with full proceeds going towards the project.

Located at 22 Henry Street in Glens Falls, Amanda’s House was dedicated in memory of Amanda Rose Cafaro. Amanda was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia at just four months old and during her struggle, the communities in the Greater Glens Falls area rallied to the aid of Amanda and her family. After her death on September 24, 1998 it was suggested that a memorial be established for this little girl who united the community in such a loving manner. Amanda's House is that memorial. The House is offered free of charge to anyone who is visiting Glens Falls Hospital for treatment from out of the area.
