Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames announced today that they have signed forward Tyler Spurgeon to a Professional Try-Out (PTO).
Spurgeon, 28, attended training camp with the Flames this fall and was one of the final players to be re-assigned to the ECHL. The Edmonton, ALTA native has appeared in 12 games with season with the Ontario Reign in the ECHL, where he has collected 10 points (2-8-10).
Spurgeon is a veteran of 147 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Springfield Falcons and Abbotsford Heat, where he amassed 51 points (14-37-51). The former eighth round selection of the Edmonton Oilers (242nd Overall) played four seasons (2002-2006) under Adirondack Head Coach Ryan Huska with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL, where Huska was an Assistant Coach.
