GLENS FALLS – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, announced that the club has signed forward Lucas Helland to a standard player contract for the 2026-27 season.
Helland, 25, played 26 games last season with the Iowa Heartlanders and Rapid City Rush and recorded one point and 48 penalty minutes.
“Lucas is a gritty, hard-nosed player who brings a lot of compete and isn’t afraid to stand up for his teammates” said Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier. “He also skates very well for a big man and has the ability to make an impact all over the ice. We’re excited to see him create problems on the forecheck, bring a physical presence, and play a strong 200-foot game for us.”
During the 2024-25 season, the 6-foot-3, 181-pound forward played 42 games with the SPHL’s Knoxville Ice Bears and recorded three goals and four assists with 142 penalty minutes.
