GLENS FALLS – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, have announced that the club has re-signed forward Tanner Edwards to a standard player contract for the 2026-27 season.
Edwards, 26, returns to Adirondack after recording nine points (3g, 6a) and 72 penalty minutes in 37 games last season after being acquired in a trade with South Carolina.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tanner back to the Thunder,” said Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier. “He brings an incredible work ethic, a physical presence, and the kind of energy that makes a difference every night. Tanner plays the game the right way, fits perfectly with the culture we've built here, and we're excited to see him continue to grow. We believe he's going to make a major impact for our hockey club this season."
Prior to joining the Thunder, Edwards played eight games last season with the Stingrays and one game with the Toledo Walleye. Before his began his professional career, the Anchorage, Alaska native played his final collegiate year with University of Alaska-Anchorage and totaled eight points (3g, 5a) in 31 games.
In a total of 52 NCAA (D1) games with Minnesota State University and University of Alaska-Anchorage, Edwards had 16 points (5g, 11a).
