GLENS FALLS, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Carter Struthers from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for future considerations.
Struthers, 26, has played in a combined eight ECHL games this season between the Newfoundland Growlers and Orlando Solar Bears, gathering an assist, 6 PIM and a plus-three rating. Struthers played an additional eight games last season for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
The 6-foot-5 blueliner has also skated in 13 games with the SPHL’s Pensacola Ice Flyers this season where he accumulated five points (3g-2a) from 13 games played.
Prior to playing professionally, the Weyburn, SK native played five seasons of collegiate hockey at Bemidji State University in Minnesota. Struthers skated in 49 games with the Beavers, collecting four points (1g-3a) and 14 PIM during his career.
