Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder announced today that Zach Dooley will not return to the Thunder staff next season as he has accepted a position with the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League.
Dooley, 26, came to Glens Falls as the Director, Communications & Community Relations for the AHL’s Adirondack Flames prior to the 2014-15 season. He stayed on in that role as the team transitioned to the Adirondack Thunder and has held that post until now.
“On behalf of the Adirondack Thunder, I’d like to thank Zach for his time with the team and congratulate him on a well-deserved promotion,” General Manager Jeff Mead said. “He was a valuable asset to this organization in his many roles and was especially helpful in making a seamless transition from Calgary to local ownership. We are always excited when any of our players or staff members gets an opportunity at a higher level and we wish Zach the best as he continues to ascend the hockey ranks.”
Dooley, a native of Latham, NY, was named a finalist for the ECHL’s Exellence in Media Relations award after each of the previous two seasons.
Prior to his time in the Glens Falls, the Marist College graduate worked one season as the Communications Coordinator and Account Executive for the AHL’s Utica Comets. Dooley also gained experience working local internships with the Glens Falls Golden Eagles of the PGCBL and Tri-City Valley Cats of the New York-Penn League.
