Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have acquired the rights to forward Eric Neiley from the Atlanta Gladiators, in exchange for the rights to forward Phil Lane.
Neiley, 25, tied for the Gladiators’ team lead in goals during the 2016-17 season with 27 as he netted a career-high 47 points (27-20-47) in 61 games played. The 5-11 winger, who also ranked second on the Gladiators with 96 penalty minutes, collected 12 multi-point games a season ago, including four two-goal efforts. Neiley also brings seven American Hockey League games to the Thunder, having skated with the Providence Bruins in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, in addition to 47 games played with Atlanta during the 2015-16 season.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Neiley skated four seasons at Dartmouth College in the ECAC, where he led the team in scoring as both a junior and a senior. The Warminster, PA native ranks eighth all-time in school history with 129 games played and is one of just three players in Dartmouth history to score more than 90 points and accumulate over 140 penalty minutes throughout his career.
The Thunder will hit the ice again in October as they kick off the 2017-18 ECHL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $13 per ticket. Call 518-480-3355 x1 or visit ECHLThunder.com for more information.
