Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed defenseman Tim Boyle to a standard player contract.
Boyle, 24, appeared in 19 ECHL games a season ago in stints with Wheeling, Greenville and Norfolk. The 6-2 defenseman collected seven points (0-7-7) in the ECHL and added seven points (2-5-7) in 13 games with the SPHL’s Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Boyle’s most productive ECHL stint came with Wheeling as he amassed a +9 rating in 10 games with the Nailers and earned his first career three-point game on January 20 against Norfolk.
The Hingham, MA native appeared in 42 regular season contests with the Mississippi RiverKings during the 2015-16 season in addition to four playoff games, where he collected three points (1-2-3). Prior to beginning his professional career, Boyle played one season in the Capital Region at Union College, where he helped the Dutchmen qualify for the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Boyle was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and is the younger brother of New Jersey Devils center Brian Boyle.
The Thunder will hit the ice again in October as they kick off the 2017-18 ECHL season, their third as a member of the league. Season tickets are on sale now at $13 per ticket. Call 518-480-3355 x1 or visit ECHLThunder.com for more information.
