THUNDER INK LEADING GOAL-SCORER BRIAN WARD

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed forward Brian Ward to a standard player contract.

Ward, 25, scored at a point-per-game pace last season as he collected 49 points (27-22-49) from 49 games played with the Thunder. The 6-1 forward ended the season on a 15-game point streak and was named the CCM/ECHL Rookie of the Month for March, as he compiled 17 points (8-9-17) in 11 games played. Ward’s 27 goals last season were tied for fifth in the ECHL in scoring among first-year players and his 1.00 point-per-game pace ranked fourth among rookies with at least 45 games played.

The Haverhill, MA native has also appeared in nine career AHL games, including eight last season with the Albany Devils, where he collected his first career AHL assist. Prior to beginning his professional career, Ward played three seasons of collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University, where he amassed 70 points (27-43-70) over 112 games played. Ward led his team in scoring with 26 points (9-17-26) during the 2014-15 season and captained the team as a senior.
