MCDONALD ASSIGNED TO THUNDER

Stockton, CA - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announce that goaltender Mason McDonald has been reassigned to the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL.

McDonald, 20, joined the Flames organization for his first professional season in 2016-17 after a four-year career in the QMJHL with the Charlottetown Islanders and Acadie-Bathurst Titan. During the 2015-16 season, McDonald led the Islanders to the second round of the QMJHL playoffs with 39 games played, 21 wins and a .902 save percentage. The 6-4 netminder previously represented Team Canada at the 2016 World Junior Championships and was originally a second round draft pick (34th Overall) of the Calgary Flames in 2014.
