Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have signed forward James Henry to a standard player contract.
Henry, 25, joins the Thunder for his second season in Adirondack and his fourth with the Thunder organization, after he skated in Stockton from 2013-2015. Henry was limited to 44 games in the 2015-16 season due to injury but collected 21 points (7-14-21) and 37 penalty minutes. The Winnipeg, MAN native also skated in all 12 of Adirondack’s Kelly Cup Playoff contests.
The 5-8 forward has been a Thunder player for his entire professional career to date, as he collected 79 points (24-55-79) over 138 games played during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons with the Stockton Thunder. Henry set career highs in assists (33) and points (43) during the 2014-15 season, placing him third on the Stockton roster. Henry was also the only player on his team to appear in all 72 games. Prior to beginning his professional career, the winger skated in parts of six seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and the Moose Jaw Warriors. Henry ranks fourth all time with 281 games played with Vancouver, while he placed ninth with 184 career points (62-122-184).
