THUNDER TENDER EIGHT QUALIFYING OFFERS

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have tendered eight qualifying offers to players on their season-ending roster.

The Adirondack Thunder have tendered qualifying offers to the following players

Defensemen (x2): Patch Alber, Alex Wall

Forwards (x6): Alex Carrier, Kyle Flanagan, Dana Fraser, James Henry, Gunnar Hughes, Greg Wolfe

Each of the eight players tendered qualifying offers skated with the Thunder during the 2015-16 season, with six of the eight appearing in playoff action with the team including the team’s leading scorer from post-season action in Wolfe, who collected 14 points (7-7-14) in 12 playoff games. Alber, Wall, Fraser, Henry and Hughes also appeared in playoff action for the Thunder, while Carrier was named to the playoff roster but did not appear in any of the team’s 12 contests.

The Thunder, along with all ECHL teams, are entitled to reserve rights to a maximum of eight players from the list of 20 on their season ending roster, by extending a qualifying offer no later than July 1. Of the eight qualified players, no more than four can be veterans (260 regular season professional hockey games played as of the start of the 2016-17 season). Of the eight Thunder players tendered qualifying offers, none were of veteran status. Players on open qualifying offers cannot be traded. Teams are not required to extend a qualifying offer to players who sign a contract prior to July 1.

The qualifying offer must remain open for acceptance until Aug. 1 at which time the qualifying offer becomes null and void and the team may sign the qualified player to any salary or may elect to take no further action. Teams that extend a valid qualifying offer to a non-veteran player shall retain the rights to that qualified player for one playing season.

The Thunder kick off their 2016-17 home schedule on Saturday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. against the Manchester Monarchs. Full season tickets are available now for the 2016-17 season at just $13 per seat, a savings of 34% off of 2015-16 pricing. Call 518-480-3355 x1 to reserve your season ticket locations today.
