Glens Falls, NY –The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have signed goaltender Mavric Parks to a standard player contract. Parks will join the Thunder for their game tonight against Elmira.
Parks, 25, joins the Thunder from the University of Prince Edward Island, where he skated the last five seasons. Parks appeared in 79 games with the Panthers, where he won 33 games to accompany a .907 save percentage. Parks had his finest season in 2014-15, where he recorded a .921 save percentage and a 2.29 goals against average.
Prior to his collegiate career, Parks played four seasons of major junior hockey in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers, Kingston Frontenacs, Barrie Colts and Saginaw Spirit. Parks appeared in 170 regular season and 22 post season games in the OHL, where he totaled an 84-61-11 record. Parks was a part of 2009-10 Barrie Colts squad that won 57 games and advanced to the OHL Finals. The Eganville, ONT native went 7-3 in the OHL playoffs with a 2.29 GAA, a .926 save percentage and a shutout.
