Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have signed forward Peter MacArthur.
MacArthur, 30, joins the Thunder after he appeared in 26 games with the Graz 99ers in the Austrian Hockey League. MacArthur collected seven points (2-5-7) with the 99ers and has 71 points (23-48-71) in 165 games over the past four seasons playing in Austria and Germany.
Prior to moving overseas, MacArthur skated in the American Hockey League and the ECHL from 2008-2012. The Boston University graduate had his finest AHL season in 2009-10, where he collected 42 points (8-34-42) in 71 games with the Rockford IceHogs. MacArthur also skated with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, San Antonio Rampage, Lake Erie Monsters and Peoria Rivermen in the AHL, as well as the Fresno Falcons and Las Vegas Rampage in the ECHL, where he amassed 52 points (18-32-52) in 41 games played.
A native of Clifton Park, NY, MacArthur skated three years in the Capital District High School Hockey League from 1999-2001 with Shenendehowa, where he compiled 91 points in 52 games with the Plainsmen playing under his father, Bill MacArthur. Following his high school career, MacArthur moved to the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks, followed by a four-year career at Boston University, where he captained the team as a senior in 2007-08 and was named an NCAA Second Team All-American.
