Saturday, October 3, 2015
Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have signed forwards Greg Wolfe James Henry, Mark Mcgowan and Jeff Silengo.
Wolfe, 25, joins the Thunder for his second full season of professional hockey after he spent the 2014-15 season with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL and the Iowa Wild of the AHL. Wolfe appeared in 59 games with Alaska, where he was one of the team’s top offensive threats as a rookie. The forward collected 60 points (22-38-60) to put him at over a point-per-game for the season, one of just two Aces’ players with over 50 games played to reach that mark. Wolfe’s play in Alaska earned him an AHL recall in February, where he made his AHL debut with the Iowa Wild on February 13, 2015 against Texas. He collected his first career AHL point, an assist, in a 4-2 win over Milwaukee on February 21.
Henry, 24, has spent the past two seasons in the ECHL with the Stockton Thunder, where he finished third on the team with 43 points (10-33-43) during the 2014-15 season. Henry was also the only Thunder player to appear in all 72 games last season and ranks seventh all time in Thunder history with 79 points. The Winnipeg, MAN native, who also had 10 multi-point games a season ago, previously skated parts of six seasons of major junior hockey with the Vancouver Giants and Moose Jaw Warriors.
McGowan, 25, joins the Thunder for his first full professional season, after he made his ECHL debut at the end of last season with the Florida Everblades. McGowan appeared in three games with Florida after he concluded his collegiate career at RPI. The Toronto, ONT native appeared in over 30 games in each of his four seasons with the Engineers, highlighted by his career high 39 games in his senior season in 2014-15 and a career most 15 points in 2012-13.
Silengo, 25, is also entering his second professional season after he made his professional and EHCL debuts with the Florida Everblades before he was traded late in the season to the Gwinnett Gladiators. Silengo collected his first career professional point, an assist, on Oct. 31 against Orlando and scored his first goal on Feb. 11 against the Fort Wayne Komets. Siliengo finished his tenure in Florida with seven points (1-6-7) over 33 games played, before he was traded to Gwinnett on March 12. Silengo appeared in seven games with the Gladiators and collected three points (1-2-3).
