ADIRONDACK THUNDER ANNOUNCE NAME THE MASCOT CONTEST

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today the “Name The Mascot” contest for the new Thunder mascot, which will be released this summer. The winner of the contest will win an Adirondack Thunder team signed stick, four center ice seats to the Thunder’s Opening Night on October 24 against the Manchester Monarchs and the opportunity to participate in the unveiling ceremony.

Starting today, Monday, May 11, 2015, fans will have the opportunity to vote online or through email for the franchise’s newest member. Fans can visit echlthunder.com and click the “Name The Mascot” link under the Fan Zone tab or send an email with their name choice as the subject line and their Name, Phone Number and Email in the body of the message to info@echlthunder.com to enter. The name submission piece of the contest will end on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Fans should note that the Thunder’s new mascot will be derived in some form from the team’s logo.

The Thunder will choose the top five nominations and run an online poll beginning Monday, May 25, 2015, where fans can vote on their favorite name. The online voting process will run for one week and will end on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. The name of the new mascot will be announced by the team after the conclusion of the voting process.

“Our mascot is an important and exciting aspect of our new Thunder brand and will become an active and visible personality throughout our community and because of that, we wanted our fans to play a major role in shaping its identity," Adirondack Thunder President Brian Petrovek said. “We are expecting our fans to get their creative juices flowing over the next few weeks and look forward to the results of their efforts."

Full season, partial season, flex and group ticket plans are now available to renew or purchase for the Adirondack Thunder’s inaugural 2015-16 season. The benefits of being a Thunder season ticket holder include a savings of 27 to 42 percent off of box office pricing. All full season, 22 game and 12 game Thunder season ticket holders are entitled to unlimited unused ticket exchange, playoff ticket priority and the ability to buy tickets all season long at the discounted season ticket price.
