Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned goaltender Joni Ortio to the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League. Ortio, a native of Turku, Finland, has played six games with Calgary this season and posted a 4-2-0 record, his first NHL shutout, a 2.52 GAA, and a .908 SV%.
He has featured for Adirondack in 35 games this year, posting a 20-12-1 record with four shutouts, a 2.64 GAA, .914 SV%. The 23-year-old netminder also played in the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic in January.
