The Adirondack Flames honored five local hockey heroes at Saturday night's game against Toronto. The five honorees were each presented with a signed stick and a certificate for their contributions to the local hockey community.

Stacy Greenwood is the current Tournament director for the Adirondack Youth Hockey Association. In addition to scheduling events for the Squirt B division, she also handles all AYHA intermission skates at Flames games, as well as all of the organizations ticketing needs.
Jeff Willis served as the President of the Adirondack Youth Hockey Association for six years between 2008 and 2014, during which time he helped build the AYHA membership from 100 participants to over 500. Jeff has also been an AYHA coach for 12 years, and has coached the area’s youth for over 14 years in total.
Shirley Sippos has been a devoted season ticket holder at the Civic Center since the early days of the Adirondack Red Wings. Beyond the professional level, Shirley has also been, and continues to be a firm supporter of both the game and its booster club.
Tim Benner has been involved with the Adirondack hockey community since the early 1980’s in various capacities both on and off the ice. Tim has been a both an on and off-ice official for local hockey organizations, and is also a veteran of the United States’ armed forces.
Tom Rourke has been a staple in the hockey communities of both the Capital region as well as the Adirondacks for many years. Currently serving as the President of the Clifton Park Youth Hockey Association, Rourke has played an integral role in vastly expanding the sport of hockey to the youth of the Capital District and the Adirondacks.
