FLAMES TO KICK OFF 2014-15 LABATT BLUE AHL BUBBLE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames and the American Hockey League announced today their 2015 schedule for the Labatt Blue AHL Bubble Hockey Tournament of Champions. The Glens Falls Civic Center has been selected as this year’s Tournament Finals Location, with the league wide championship to be held on April 11, 2015, during an intermission of the Flames’ 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Lake Erie Monsters. Eight preliminary competitions will take place, beginning tomorrow, January 7, at The Bayou in Schenectady.

Glens Falls, along with other participating AHL cities, will hold regional tournaments in their own market, before the league finals culminate at the Civic Center. The Flames will host eight local events, before they host their team final on Friday, March 27 at the Civic Center. The two finalists of the local tournament will play the Adirondack Flames championship during an intermission of the Flames’ 7:00 p.m. game against Rockford.

The Labatt Blue AHL Bubble Hockey Tournament of Champions is now in its fourth season. The AHL finals have been previously hosted in Hershey, Albany and Utica, before coming to Glens Falls this season.

Thursday, February 26th at Recovery Room Queensbury: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Friday, March 13th at The Full Moon: 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Tuesday, March 24th at Peabody's: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Anyone looking to participate can attend any of the local qualifying tournaments free of charge, however each person is limited to one tournament championship. The Bubble Hockey table and tournament brackets will be provided at each location.

Labatt Blue will supply T-Shirts, key chains, cozies, hats, Flames flex tickets and other promotional items to participants and winners from each of the local tournaments. The Flames will distribute two tickets to the game on March 27 to each local tournament winner, so they can participate in the regional tournament on that date. The winner of each regional tournament will receive two tickets to the Flames’ game on April 11, in addition to hotel accommodations in Glens Falls and a $100 gas card. The winner of the league wide tournament on April 11 will receive a new Super Chexx Bubble Hockey game.

The Flames will be at the Civic Center quite a bit throughout the month of January. The Flames will host Oklahoma City this Friday, and Milwaukee the following Saturday for Pink in the Rink Night. Pink in the Rink Night, presented by the Glens Falls Hospital, will have a post-game live jersey auction of the Flames’ game worn specialty pink jerseys, with proceeds to benefit the C.R.
