Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Flames partnered with Miller Mechanical Services Inc. last Friday to donate over 100 pairs of mittens and hats, along with a Flames flex ticket and Civic Center food voucher, to children at the Glens Falls Area Youth Center.
Miller Mechanical has partnered with hockey in the Adirondack region for the past two seasons to give warmth and clothing to children in need during the holiday season. The following companies also partnered with the Flames and Miller Mechanical and donated to the cause: The Adirondack Trust, Haun Welding Supply, Cool Insuring, Storedtech, Glens Falls National Bank and Cifone Construction.
The Glens Falls Area Youth Center is an alternative to the dilemmas our young people face everyday. It is the only teen drop-in facility of its kind in the area and is open throughout the year. The Youth Center promotes an educational atmosphere, free of charge, requiring participants to be enrolled in school, working toward a GED, or involved in Vo-Tech training. The Youth Center provides a safe, well-supervised environment where teenagers can enjoy the company of their peers and avoid feelings of intimidation.
Miller Mechanical Services, Inc. (millermech.com) is a North American company specializing in metal fabrication and installation as well as the general maintenance of the pulp & paper industry.
The Adirondack Flames return home on Wednesday, December 31, for a New Year’s Eve contest against the Toronto Marlies. Puck drop is at 5:30 p.m. and an indoor fireworks show will follow at the conclusion of the game. Tickets are still available for that contest and all remaining Flames’ home games. Visit the Flames box office, call 518-480-3355, or order online at glensfallscc.com.
