The Adirondack Flames were out and about in the local community this past Tuesday as they visited the Kids Cove at Glens Falls Hospital and the Glens Falls Area Youth Center.
The day began for the team with a visit to nearby Glens Falls hospital, as two of the Flames' players talked with a few of their biggest fans. Bryce Van Brabant and Garnet Hathaway met with Serenity, Jayden, and Hope as they recovered in the hospital.
The two rookie forwards brought Adirondack Flames jerseys for the kids, as well as the offer to come to a future Flames’ game as their guest once they are feeling better. It was a fun filled afternoon for everyone involved, consisting of watching the Disney Channel and playing with stuffed animals a time that was enjoyed by the players, kids, families, and the hospital staff as well.
Bryce and Garnet both hope to go back soon and loved the community feel of the Glens Falls area. Some of the patients and their families had already attended a Flames game this season and were ecstatic at the Tuesday afternoon surprise they received.
The day continued at the Glens Falls area youth center, as Mathieu Tousignant and Ryan Culkin visited the Glens Falls Area Youth Center to spend some time with kids after their school day. Despite snowy conditions, the guys arrived in high spirits and enjoyed the activities that the Youth Center had to offer.
Culkin and Tousignant played a number of activities with the kids, including ping pong, pool, basketball and foosball. The two players showed off their skills on the ping pong table but Mathieu was unable to best the locals in a spirited game of knockout. The day ended as the players joined in on a group game of dodgeball. The Flames left a youth jersey with the Center for the kids to wear at future home games they attend and the Flames will donate tickets for the kids to be guests of the team and players.
