Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned center Markus Granlund to the Adirondack Flames.
Granlund, 21, spent last season split between Calgary (NHL) and Abbotsford (AHL). The Oulu, Finland native collected three points (2-1-3) over seven games in the NHL and 46 points (25-21-46) over 52 games with the Heat. Granlund had previously spent three seasons playing professionally in Finland.
The Adirondack Flames open up their 2014-15 AHL regular season when they visit the Rochester Americans on Friday, Oct. 10. The Flames return to Glens Falls for their home opener the following night against the Albany Devils. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. for both games. Adirondack’s roster now sits at 27 players (3 goaltenders, 9 defensemen, 15 forwards).
