FLAMES ANNOUNCE OPENING NIGHT AS OCTOBER 11TH

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – Adirondack Flames President Brian Petrovek announced today that the team’s home Opening Night for its inaugural season will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014.The game will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center, with the opponent still to be determined. More details about the night will also be announced at a later date.October 11th will mark the beginning of the 26th season of AHL hockey in Glens Falls and the inaugural season for the Adirondack Flames. The Adirondack Red Wings, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, called the arena home from 1979-1999 and brought home four Calder Cup Championships to the Glens Falls area. The Adirondack Phantoms, AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, occupied the arena from 2009-2014.Glens Falls marks the 5th location for Calgary’s AHL affiliate since they affiliated with the league in 1993. The Flames also called St. John, NB, Quad City, IL, Omaha, NE and Abbotsford, BC home for their top minor league affiliate.Petrovek also announced today that Saturday nights will be known as “Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Glens Falls” during the 2014-15 AHL season. “Saturday Night is Hockey Night in Glens Falls” will be a promotional platform that will invigorate the city with pre, post and in game specials throughout the city of Glens Falls, as well as inside the Civic Center during games.Upcoming announcements, including our season sponsor, as well as seven more guaranteed dates for the 2014-15 season will be announced at a later date. The Flames will be releasing group and flex ticket plans, as well as advance and day of game box office prices and on-sale dates in the future.
