TY LONEY RECALLED BY AHL'S SYRACUSE CRUNCH

Syracuse, NY - The AHL's Syracuse Crunch have recalled forward Ty Loney from the Adirondack Thunder.
 
Loney, 25, is currently tied for the Thunder lead with 29 points (16-13-29) this season, with his 16 goals tied for sixth in the ECHL. Loney ranks second in the league with eight power-play goals and leads all Thunder players with 13 points (8-5-13) on the man advantage this season. The 6-4 winger skated in six games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch and collected his first career professional shootout goal on December 2 against Belleville. Loney has appeared in 66 career regular season AHL games with Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Albany, Chicago and Syracuse, where he's netted 20 total points (6-14-20). The Pittsburgh, PA native also skated in eight Calder Cup Playoff contests with Chicago last season, where he amassed two goals and an assist.

Loney, who was previously named as the Adirondack Thunder’s representative at the event in early January, currently leads all Adirondack skaters with 32 points (18-14-32) this season. Loney’s 18 goals are tied for sixth in the ECHL and the Denver University graduate ranks second in the league with eight power-play goals, in addition to leading all Thunder players with 13 points (8-5-13) on the man advantage this season.

About the Thunder

The Adirondack Thunder are the proud members of the ECHL and will begin their 2017-18 season on October 14, 2017 at Cool Insuring Arena. The Thunder enter their third season of ECHL play, following two consecutive playoff berths, including reaching second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs in 2016, the first time since 1994 that an Adirondack team won a playoff series.
